Cathy is a Nephrology Dietitian and an Independent Clinical Consultant. She has both clinical and research experience in diabetes, obesity and all phases of chronic kidney disease from acute kidney injury to transplant. She is also a member of the Joint ADA-RPG and NKF-CRN Committee developed the Standards of Practice and Standards of Professional Performance for dietitians practicing in Nephrology Care and published in JADA & JREN. Cathy has authored peer-reviewed journal articles, numerous book chapters and been an invited speaker on a variety of topics including chronic kidney disease, botanical medicine, diabetes, obesity/weight management, low literacy education, vitamin/mineral metabolism, and nutrition/wellness. In addition, she has been a regular contributor for professional and patient education materials. She enjoys doing anything outdoors!

Stacey C. Phillips, RD, LD

Stacey received her undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois in Food Sciences and Human Nutrition and is currently working on her master’s degree at Central Michigan University. She has been a clinical dietitian for three years, primarily working with renal patients. She is excited about being part of the editorial team!

Megan Sliwa, RD, LDN

Megan Sliwa works at Abbott Nutrition as the Manager of the Inside Sales Team for Therapeutic Nutrition in Columbus, Ohio. Prior to her current role, she worked as a field representative and district trainer for Abbott Nutrition in Chicago; her customers included hospitals, nursing homes, home care agencies and dialysis clinics. Before working for Abbott eight years ago, she worked as a clinical dietitian covering both inpatient units and outpatient counseling. She went on to do hospital-based research in geriatrics. While in Chicago, she served the Chicago Dietetic Association Board in various roles such as President, Program Chair, Treasurer and Membership Co-Chair. Megan earned her Bachelor's Degree in Food, Nutrition and Dietetics at Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois and completed her Dietetic Internship at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. She is currently pursuing her Master's of Business Adminstration at the Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. Megan is enjoying her role on the editorial team.

Sara Erickson

Sara is the Pediatric Renal Dietitian for the Levine Children’s Hospital and Specialty Center in Charlotte, NC. She has worked in pediatrics for over 10 years having transitioned to pediatric nephrology just over 2 years ago where she manages the nutrition care of patients within an outpatient clinic, dialysis unit, and transplant program. She received her BS from the University of North Carolina – Greensboro and completed her internship through East Carolina University at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, North Carolina. She is excited about joining the Editorial team.

Kathy Ricketts, MS, RD, LDN

Kathy Ricketts, MS, RD, LDN is a Renal Specialist at Shire Pharmaceuticals in Wayne, PA. Ms. Ricketts obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition Education and Dietetics from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Indiana, PA and Master of Science in Health Education from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, PA. She is a Registered Dietitian who has spent most of her career in the renal nutrition arena. Before joining Shire, Ms. Ricketts was a Renal Dietitian at Gambro Healthcare for nineteen years, a faculty for Amgen’s BMI series, and a Clinical Specialist for American Regent, providing education on anemia outcome management and education. Ms. Ricketts is an active member and past officer of Council on Renal Nutrition Network 4 and was awarded Outstanding Renal Dietitian by her peers.

Kathy Schiro Harvey, MS, RD, CSR

Kathy Schiro Harvey has been a Renal Dietitian for 25 years, active in the Renal Practice Group for over 15 years. She received the Outstanding Service Award in 1996. Kathy has served RPG on the Professional Education Committee and as Chairperson. She has authored, co-authored and/or edited many renal publications including Guidelines for Nutrition Care of Renal Patients, A Clinical Guide to Nutrition Care in Kidney Disease and The National Renal Diet. She was also a member of the KDOQI Workgroup, Clinical Practice Guidelines for Chronic Kidney Disease: Evaluation, Classification, and Stratification. Kathy received her BS and MS degrees from the University of Washington in Seattle and currently works as Nutrition Manager for Puget Sound Kidney Centers in Snohomish County Washington.
